All memberships get you discounted or free access to events and socials, unlimited free access to online and on-demand content, as well as exclusive member discounts with our sponsors.
How can I purchase a membership?
You can purchase a membership on the
memberships page of our website!
How long is my membership valid for?
If you buy a term-long membership, it is valid until the end of the school term (i.e. Term 1 memberships expire at the end of December, and Term 2 memberships expires at the end of April). If you purchase a year-long membership, it is valid from September until the end of Term 2 (i.e. the end of April).
Classes
Do I have to reserve a spot for class in advance? Do you take walk-ins?
Since we have limited class capacities, you must reserve a spot in advance if you want to guarantee a spot in class. We do take walk-ins if there is space available, however it is not guaranteed you will get a spot in class if class capacities are already met, and pre-registered attendees will be prioritized for class entry.
What are options for class payment?
Paying online via our website when you reserve a spot in class is the easiest and most ideal way to pay for class. If you walk-in to class, ideally you pay via our website, however we will also accept cash.
The class I want to attend is full, so I registered for the waitlist - how do waitlists work?
When you register for the waitlist, you will be notified when a spot opens up, and then you must register for class. Alternatively, you can come to the class to see if there are any open spots, and you can walk-in and pay on the spot.
What is your cancellation policy? If you reserve a spot in class and can no longer attend, as long as you cancel your spot in class more than 1 hour prior to start time, you will get a refund of your drop-in fee,
How do you cancel your class reservation?
First, login to your UBC Yoga Club account on our website, then navigate to your account settings, and under the "bookings" tab, press "cancel" next to the class you can no longer attend.
What is a "Karma" class? What is a "By-Donation/Pay-What-You-Can" class?
We encourage a minimum drop-in donation of $2 for both members and non-members to our Karma classes. A Karma class is a yoga class where all drop-in fees are donated directly to your selected Karma charity of the term. Karma classes are "by-donation/pay-what-you-can" classes, which means that we encourage a donation that is within your means as drop-in payment for the class, which goes directly to our karma charity.
